Joaquin Hernandez Named Hispanic National Bar Association Northwest Regional President


Seattle, WA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–April 2, 2007–Joaquin Hernandez, an associate in the Seattle office of regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, was recently named one of 19 regional presidents serving the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). Hernandez will oversee the northwest region comprised of Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and Alaska.

“Having served as a deputy regional president for the HNBA, I have seen how much the association does for the community of Hispanic legal professionals and Hispanics in general,” said Hernández. “It’s an honor to be a part of this organization.”

In his practice, Hernandez focuses on matters concerning government contracts, procurement regulations, public and private development projects, and other business-related issues for clients in the Northwest and abroad.

A fellowship participant in the nationally-recognized Washington State Bar Association (WBA) Leadership Institute in 2006, Hernandez has been called upon as a presenter at the WBA Continuing Legal Education seminars. He is also a recipient of the “Random Act of Professionalism” award given by the WBA Professionalism Committee and he serves as a volunteer for the YMCA Youth & Government Mock Trial program.

Hernandez received his juris doctor degree cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Washington State University.
