MIAMI, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — MTV Latin America announced today that iconic Mexican rock band Cafe Tacvba, electronic group Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fussible and Chilean pop band Kudai are set to perform live at Los Premios MTV Latin America 2008. The network also announced a new list of confirmed presenters including Gene Simmons, television personality and bassist of the legendary rock band Kiss; multiple nominee Babasonicos from Argentina; international superstars 30 Seconds to Mars; and Colombian comedian Andres Lopez. In addition, British alternative rock band The Kooks and three-time nominee from Argentina Emmanuel Horvilleur will perform live on the red carpet pre-show “La Alfombra de Los Premios MTV 2008,” airing Thursday, October 16th at 9 p.m. (Mexico & Colombia) and 10 p.m. (Argentina). Los Premios MTV Latin America 2008 will air live on Thursday, October 16th from Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara, Jalisco – Mexico at 10 p.m. (Mexico & Colombia) and 11 p.m. (Argentina).

Sino is the tenth and latest album from Cafe Tacvba, who have received five nominations for Los Premios MTV Latin America 2008 in the categories of “Video of the Year,” “Artist of the Year,” “Best Group or Duo,” “Best Alternative Artist” and “Best Artist North.” The band also received six Latin Grammy(R) nominations. Currently, the group is on tour in Mexico and on October 31st, they will embark on the U.S. leg of their latest tour, which will have twenty-five stops around the country.
Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fussible will perform live at Los Premios MTV Latin America 2008. They just completed an intense summer tour throughout Europe that lasted two months. Their latest album Tijuana Sound Machine has received praise from critics and fans alike.
Kudai, the Chilean group that mixes pop and rock harmonies with rich, emotional and youthful lyrics, will return to the stage at Los Premios MTV 2008. The quartet has settled in Mexico following the amazing success of their music in Latin America. Their latest album Nhada has demonstrated that the group is one of the hottest bands among young people and that their music can surpass language and cultural barriers. Kudai has received four nominations for Los Premios MTV 2008 including “Best Group or Duo,” “Best Pop Artist,” “Best Artist Central” and “Best Fan Club.” The band was also the winner of the coveted “Best Pop Artist” tongue at Los Premios MTV 2007.
In 2006, The Kooks released their debut album Inside In/Inside Out, which has sold more than 2 million units around the world. Inside In/Inside Out featured the hit singles “She Moves in Her Own Way,” “You Don’t Love Me,” “Sofa Song,” “Eddie’s Gun,” “Ooh La” and “Naive.” The Brighton quartet quickly made a name for themselves as songwriters on the British scene along with talented bands such as The Kinks, Oasis, Coldplay and many others. Their second album Konk was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Air, The Fratellis) and recorded in London and Los Angeles in 2007. Following his departure from Illya Kuryaki & The Valderramas in 2002, Emmanuel Horvilleur released his solo debut album titled Musica y Delirio in 2003, solidifying himself in the Argentine rock scene. In 2005, he signed with SONY BMG and released his second album Rocanrolero, which contained dance songs such as “No Como,” “Fun” and “Alucinante.” With this album, Emmanuel Horvilleur received the opportunity to open for acts such as Jamiroquai and Shakira and also performed more than 90 shows in Argentina. In October 2007, he released Mordisco featuring the singles “Radios” and “Tu Hermana,” both of which topped the charts in Argentina. In addition, he received three nominations for Los Premios MTV Latin America 2008 in the categories of “Best Solo Artist,” “Best Alternative Artist” and “Best Artist South.”
Cafe Tacvba, Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fusible and Kudai join the list of previously announced performers: Zoe, Ximena Sarinana, Katy Perry, Paramore, Tokio Hotel, Belanova and Julieta Venegas. Gene Simmons, Babasonicos, 30 Seconds to Mars and Andres Lopez join Ana Claudia Talancon and the cast members of the hit MTV show “The Dudesons” as presenters at the show.
