UNITED STATES HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, WELLS FARGO AND LATINA STYLE MAGAZINE OFFER CASH GRANTS TO LATINA ENTREPRENEURS; DEADLINE IS AUGUST 15, 2002

WASHINGTON–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–June 28, 2002–Latina entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to receive cash grant awards through the newly established Anna Maria Arias Memorial Business Fund.

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) has partnered with Wells Fargo and LATINA Style Magazine to announce the creation of this business fund to memorialize the outstanding efforts of the late Anna Maria Arias, founder and publisher of LATINA Style Magazine. Arias was recognized as the foremost advocate for Latina entrepreneurship and professional career development in the nation.

The Fund will provide cash awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to outstanding Latina business owners throughout the country. Applications are available at http://www.ushcc.com. The application deadline is August 15, 2002.

The program is named in memory of Arias who passed away in October 2001. The magazine was the first of its kind dedicated to the needs and concerns of Latina professionals across the nation. The Fund will recognize the accomplishments and successes of Latina businesswomen who exemplify the principles and ideals that Arias championed.

The USHCC represents the interests of more than 1.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States and Puerto Rico, which earn more than $200 billion annually. It serves as the umbrella organization for more than 200 local Hispanic chambers nationwide, and it actively promotes the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs.
