Los Angeles,
CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–July 31, 2007–Fox Sports en Espanol announced today the return of the Copa Nissan Sudamericana to its
line-up of exclusive live soccer action. Live tournament play kicks-off tonight
on Fox Sports en Espanol featuring Chile’s Audax at Bolivia’s Jorge
Wilstermann at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT.

For the
first time ever, the 2007 Copa Nissan Sudamericana will pit teams from different countries
against each other in the early qualifying rounds. Teams from Bolivia, Chile,
Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay,
Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, who until last year had
to play against teams from their own country, will now compete against teams
from their neighboring countries to qualify for the round of 16.

Meanwhile, Argentina and Brazil, who have the greatest
number of teams, will narrow down the field by playing their respective teams
against each other in their respective countries and later competing home and
away with teams from neighboring countries to advance to the round of 16.

Boca
Juniors and River Plate from Argentina;
Chivas, Club America,
and defending champions Pachuca from Mexico; and DC United from the U.S. have
automatic berths into the round of 16.

“The Copa Nissan Sudamericana
continues to be one of soccer’s premier international club tournaments,”
said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox
Sports en Espanol.

“We
anticipate that the participation of returning champions Pachuca,
as well as of Chivas and Club America will score big among our viewers and
further bolster the popularity of the Copa Nissan Sudamericana stateside, particularly among Mexican soccer
fans that make up the majority of the U.S. Spanish-language television
viewing audience.

We’re
excited to once again be the only network to offer live and exclusive action
from this prestigious tournament.”

A
CONMEBOL-sanctioned tournament, the 2007 Copa Nissan Sudamericana features 34 teams from 12 countries, including
31 teams from CONMEBOL member countries and 3 from CONCACAF, including Brazil
(8), Argentina (6), Mexico (3), Bolivia (2), Chile (2), Colombia (2), Ecuador
(2), Peru (2), Paraguay (2), Uruguay (2), Venezuela (2), and the United States
(1).
