PALATINE, Ill., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — After months of exciting grilling demonstrations and an outpouring of strong patriotic spirit from Hispanics across the country, consumers chose a woman of Colombian descent as the winner of the second “Unete a la Onda Latina … ¡a Weber!” grilling contest.

Thousands of people visited Weber-Stephen Products Co.’s website, ondalatinaweber.com, to view the finalists’ grilling video entries. The majority cast their votes for Los Angeles resident Betty Valdez as their favorite Hispanic griller. As the Grand Prize Winner, Valdez will be awarded a travel voucher for two round-trip airline tickets (value of $3,000) to any Latin American destination of her choice.

In addition to the Latin-America destination trip, Valdez, along with the other 10 finalists, will receive a Weber(R) Q(R) 220 portable gas grill and Weber grilling accessory packet. She may also appear in next year’s company publicity campaign.

The contest, which launched in May, featured hundreds of video demonstrations from people representing their country of heritage and passion for outdoor grilling.
