Hispanic Magazine Names Qwest Top Places to Work for the Fifth Consecutive Year

DENVER, CO–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–January 25, 2005–Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced that it has been included in Hispanic Magazine’s “Corporate 100: The Top 100 Companies Providing the Most Opportunities to Hispanics” for the fifth consecutive year.

“Receiving this recognition from Hispanic Magazine for the fifth year in a row truly illustrates Qwest’s longstanding commitment to serving the Hispanic community and providing numerous opportunities to our Hispanic employees,” said Teresa Taylor, executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Embracing and promoting diversity is critical to our corporate values and part of our Spirit of Service in action.”

Qwest has continually strived to provide increasing quality of service and support to Spanish-speaking customers in the growing Hispanic business and consumer markets. In 2004, Qwest launched additional services and celebrated milestones that cater specifically to the Hispanic community, including:

— The opening of a customer service center that supports Spanish-speaking, small-business customers across Qwest’s 14-state region.

— The “10 cents to Mexico” calling plan which helps Hispanic families stay connected with relatives and friends living in Mexico.

— El Centro, its Spanish-speaking residential customer service center, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

In addition to providing the Spirit of Service to its Hispanic customers, Qwest also is committed to maintaining diversity in its workforce and attracting talented Hispanic employees. The company offers Hispanic employees top training, education and resource groups. For example, Qwest employees can participate in a group called “Somos” that provides a unique cultural perspective on various business-related issues of the Hispanic community to Qwest leadership.

Qwest also is an active member in the Hispanic community throughout the company’s 14-state region. The Qwest Foundation supports numerous Hispanic cultural organizations and many Qwest leaders are members of the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Hispanic Magazine compiled the list based on the recruitment efforts, diversity training, minority business initiatives and funding efforts for scholarships and organizations demonstrated by the companies.
