New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–May 15, 2003–Latin singing sensations Thalia, Juanes, Patricia Manterola, Alex Pires and Rosario performed last night at People en Español second annual “25 Most Beautiful” celebrity gala at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The best selling U.S. Hispanic magazine converted its most anticipated issue, the “25 Most Beautiful,” into a musical celebration featuring some of today’s most beautiful and successful Hispanic entertainers. With red carpet arrivals, top musical performances and exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews, the evening will be transformed into a two-hour TV special scheduled to air on the Telemundo Network on Sunday, May 18 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.
Since the launch of the magazine in 1998, the “25 Most Beautiful” issue has always been a “must-have” for our readers,” says Lisa Quiroz, Publisher of People en Español. “This year, we partnered with Telemundo to offer the Hispanic community an exclusive, behind-the-scenes TV special that captures the true essence of our magazine—celebrity and entertainment.”
The evening benefited the Hispanic Scholarship Fund — the nation’s leading Hispanic educational organization – which received a $25,000 donation on behalf of People en Español and the evening’s platinum sponsor Honda. Additional event sponsors included Maybelline, Johnny Walker, Hispanic Broadcasting Company, Continental Airlines and the Bryant Park Hotel. Renowned restaurateur, Jimmy Rodriguez, catered the evening’s array of Latin-infused delicacies.

The “25 Most Beautiful” issue hit newsstands Monday, May 12, and revealed the magazine’s most anticipated list of winning Latino actors, musicians and athletes who are not only known for their captivating good looks but also for their extraordinary talent and success.
Gracing this year’s cover is Mexican singing sensation and EMI international talent Thalia who will debut her first English-language self-titled album early this summer.
