Coral Gables, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–June 29, 2006–The University of Miami is pleased to announce the launch of its Master Wine Appreciation program beginning this fall. The program is designed for wine aficionados, business professionals who need to demonstrate familiarity with good wine as part of their social responsibilities, and anybody who simply enjoys wine.

With wine consumption and awareness increasing among American consumers there is a growing need for education about wine. Students will learn to conduct sensory evaluations of different wines and master the terminology needed to discuss and enhance the experience of tasting wines of different grape varieties and from different regions. A better understanding of wine will help increase enjoyment, better communicate the pleasures or wine, and improve wine-purchasing decisions.

The fall program focuses on the wines of Spain and South America. Industry professional and co-owner of Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe in Coral Gables, Jeffrey Wolfe, will teach students during this eight-week course. Participants will receive Riedel wine tasting glasses, Hugh Johnson’s World Atlas of Wines, wine-vintage charts and a wine aroma wheel used to enhance the experience of tasting wines of different grape varieties and from different regions.

Classes will be held at the University of Miami Faculty Club overlooking Lake Osceola on the Coral Gables Campus 7 – 9 pm, every other Wednesday, Aug. 30 – Dec. 6, 2006. The final session will take place in Wolfe’s Wine Shoppe on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. A special selection of vintage wines will be tasted throughout the course.
