Los Angeles, CA—(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–June 6, 2005–Latino playwright, award-winning writer and actor Rick Najera captures the essence of Latino life in America in Volume 1 of his sidesplitting, hilarious hit comedy LATINOLOGUES(TM), available on DVD Tuesday, June 7, 2005, distributed by Image Entertainment.

This is the first DVD for the sketch comedy pioneer, however, Najera is no stranger to comedy, with writing and acting credits including National Lampoon’s TV the Movie and Pledge This, A Day Without a Mexican, MAD TV and In Living Color. Distribution rights to LATINOLOGUES(TM), in which Najera wrote, directed, and created for stage, were licensed by Image Entertainment, the leading independent supplier of DVD software in North America.
Eugenio Derbez (Derbez en Cuando, Derecho al Derbez), the most popular comedian in Latin America makes his debut in English, Jacob Vargas (Traffic, Next Friday, Selena), René Laván (Christmas with the Kranks, Dirty Dancing 2-Havana Nights) and Lina Acosta (Real Women Have Curves) join Najera on stage in this outrageous collection of comedic and poignant monologues about Latino life in America. Carlos Gomez (House of Sand and Fog, Fools Rush In) takes the mic for introductions, while hip hop rapper Chingo Bling makes a cameo and lends vocals to the LATINOLOGUES(TM) theme song.
Volume 1 of LATINOLOGUES(TM) DVD, performed in English with Spanish subtitles available, was directed by Sergio Guerrero, produced by Sabrosa Entertainment’s Kevin Benson and Michael Harpster, and available in stores on Tuesday, June 7, 2005.
