AUSTIN, TX–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–November 12, 2002–The Miller Lite Texas Title
Belt Professional Boxing Series, that provides a platform for up-and-coming
fighters, as well as established champions, has a new spokesperson: World Contender,
Jesus “El Matador” Chavez.  At a press conference in Chavez’
hometown gym, Miller executives announced a partnership that recognizes Chavez
for his talents as a boxer and inspiration as a person.

“Jesus “El Matador” Chavez lives up to the talent, bravery and
pride that the Miller Lite Texas Title Belt Professional Boxing Series looks
for in a boxer,” said Mike Morales, marketing manager for Miller Brewing.
“They call him the “Matador” because inside the ring Chavez is
known for his artistry of boxing similar to that of a matador of bullfighting.
Outside the ring he is a knockout role model, our main reason behind his being
chosen as to be our Miller Lite Texas Title Belt Professional Boxing spokesperson.”

Chavez has mastered the art of boxing and his record proves it.  He has
had 28 knockouts in his 38-2 boxing career and is ranked No. 1 with the World
Boxing Council (WBC) in the Super Featherweight Division. Chavez also holds
the title of NABF Super Featherweight Champion.

Chavez already has demonstrated his desire to help up-and-coming fighters having
mentored boxers participating in the Miller Lite Texas Title Belt Professional
Boxing Series. Chavez has fought twice in the series and will fight a third
time on Nov. 15 in Laredo, TX against Johnny Walker in preparation for his world
title fight in January 2003.

Chavez is a world-class fighter not only in the ring but also in life.
He has faced and overcome many challenges in his life, a story chronicled in
a PBS documentary entitled “Split Decision.”     His
dedication to the sport has helped him overcome the obstacles from his past
and has sculpted him into a role model for other boxers, just as Julio Cesar
Chavez was to him.

“This is Miller and Jesus Chavez time!” Chavez said. “I am going
to use this opportunity to be a mentor for boxers who are on their way to the
top.  The Miller Lite Texas Title Belt Professional Boxing Series is a
great opportunity for boxers to build their reputation.  It certainly has
been an important part of my career.”

Chavez has come a long way in his boxing career.  He will face the WBC
Super Featherweight Champion Sirimongkol Singmanussuk of Thailand for the world
title fight in January.
