National Park Foundation Launches New Disaster Relief Fund

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — In an effort to help meet the urgent needs of national parks devastated by the recent natural disasters and knowing that other catastrophic events may arise in the future, the official charity of America’s national parks has set up the National Park Foundation Disaster Relief Fund. People can contribute to the new initiative at www.nationalparks.org/disasterfund.

“Wreaking havoc on numerous national parks and the communities they support, these disasters impact people’s lives and livelihoods,” said Will Shafroth, president of the National Park Foundation. “Through our new fund, people everywhere can help reopen parks, bringing back some much-needed stability to our fellow Americans.”

The Disaster Relief Fund will support minor to moderate projects across the National Park System, whenever and wherever the need is greatest.
