2,000 leaders from religious congregations and community organizations throughout California and the leading gubernatorial candidates in the recall election.

WHAT:

A gubernatorial candidate’s forum in which candidates will listen to testimony from regular people and will be asked to offer their perspective on critical issues facing working families in California.

WHERE:

Overfelt High School Gymnasium, 1835 Cunningham Ave, San Jose

WHEN:

Sunday afternoon, September 21, 2003, 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Community and Religious Leaders from the following communities will participate: Sacramento, Escondido, Anaheim, Oakland, San Francisco, Long Beach, Costa Mesa, San Diego, Stockton, Modesto, Union City, Hayward, San Francisco, Martinez, Concord, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Santa Ana, San Bernardino, Riverside, Palm Springs, Fresno, Berkeley, San Mateo, Palo Alto, San Jose, Mountain View, Redwood City, San Leandro, Los Angeles, Chula Vista, Fallbrook, Coachella.

The forum is hosted by the Pacific Institute for Community Organizations (PICO) and is open to the public. PICO is the state’s largest network of faith-based community organizations.
