MIAMI, Florida,–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–November 8, 2002–The Miami Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) is pleased to announce its second annual fundraising Gala & Awards Banquet, which will be held on November 23, 2002 at the Biscayne Bay Marriott Hotel.
The gala’s theme is Hispanic Leadership Reaching New Heights and the evening will feature a keynote presentation given by Mr. Manuel L. Mijares, Lucent Technologies Program Management Vice President, Caribbean and Latin America Region. “As a successful Hispanic professional, Mr. Mijares is an excellent representation of our Gala’s theme,” said Mr. Miguel Reyna, President of NSHMBA’s Miami Chapter.
The gala is the principal fundraiser for NSHMBA’s Miami chapter, whose goal is to enhance opportunities for Hispanic business students and professionals to succeed in today’s business economy.
During the event, local recipients of this year’s NSHMBA scholarships will be recognized. Keila Valentin, Angel Gonzalez and Roberto Tazoe from Miami, Erick Torres from Ft. Lauderdale, Diego Meeroff from Parkland, Natalie Raspovic from Longwood and Susana Iribarren of Tampa are among the Florida students being honored.
NSHMBA’s Miami Chapter strives to develop educated and talented Hispanic business professionals and create opportunities for members. “NSHMBA is a thriving, dynamic organization,” added Mr. Reyna, “it is rewarding to be part of a group that actively promotes diversity in the workplace and fosters graduate management education and professional development for Hispanics.” Since its inception in 1988, the Chapter’s leadership has worked diligently with local universities and corporations to accomplish these objectives.
