Awards bestowed upon Carlos Perez-Abreu and Alexis Berenz during celebration held to celebrate the end of tax season

Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)– April 19, 2004 – Carlos Perez-Abreu from the Cuban American CPA Association (CACPA) and Alexis Berenz, from the Association of Latin Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), were each honored with the Dewar’s(R) 12 Award of Excellence – the first Dewar’s 12 Awards of Excellence ever presented. The awards were bestowed upon Perez-Abreu and Berenz by their respective association’s peers in recognition of their “outstanding professional achievement in the field of finance and accounting.” The awards ceremony was the highlight of the “End of Tax Season” celebration hosted by Dewar’s 12 Finest Scotch Whisky at its Clubhouse in the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami. The event was part of Dewar’s 12’s national Executive Happy Hour Series, and featured complimentary Dewar’s drinks, gourmet appetizers and live music.

“The Dewar’s 12 Award of Excellence recognizes achievers that embody the spirit of what makes Dewar’s 12 a superb Scotch whisky: unsurpassed quality, impeccable character and simply outstanding in every way,” said Christine Moll, Dewar’s 12 Marketing Manager.

Carlos Perez-Abreu currently serves as a Director of the Cuban American CPA Association (CACPA) and has been with the organization since 1996. He was elected to the CACPA Board in 1999 and then elected CACPA President for the 2001-02 period. “I’d like to thank Dewar’s 12 for this prestigious Award; and, on behalf of the Association I’d like to express our sincere gratitude to Dewar’s 12 for the support given to us to carry out our events, including the hosting of our monthly seminars and the help received in our post-graduate scholarship fundraising initiatives. Without Dewar’s 12, the current level of activity enjoyed by the Association would not be possible,” said Perez-Abreu.

A Miami native, Perez-Abreu is a Certified Public Accountant and Partner of his own Miami-based firm, Perez-Abreu, Aguerrebere and Sueiro, established 5 years ago.
