Coral Gables, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–November 10, 2005–CAC Florida Medical Centers announced that it has signed an agreement with Oscar Haza to serve as a community ambassador on behalf of all ten CAC Florida Medical Centers. Haza is an experienced newspaper and broadcast news journalist who has worked in the South Florida media for close to 20 years. He is a dual Emmy award winner who has served as an international correspondent for both Univision and Telemundo.

CAC Florida Medical Centers was initially founded in 1970 and has been providing comprehensive outpatient medical care to approximately 20,000 people with Medicare benefits every year throughout Miami-Dade County. The Centers operate 10 facilities that are staffed by more than 50 primary care physicians and Board Certified medical specialists, including: ophthalmologists, pediatricians, gynecologists, endocrinologists, and neurologists. These centers house pharmacies at four locations, walk-in care centers, diagnostics, optometric and chiropractic point-of-care facilities in addition to wellness centers that serve as an important daily social hub for members of the community.

“Oscar is extremely popular among our senior members and residents throughout South Florida’s Hispanic communities. The Centers serve as a valuable community resource both in terms of medical care and socialization,” said CAC Florida Medical Centers CEO Bert Valdes. “We are very excited about this new partnership and Oscar’s ability to help us communicate the value and scope of our medical and healthcare services to Medicare beneficiaries and their families throughout Miami-Dade County.”

Haza cited CAC’s longstanding reputation as both a leader in the provision of freestanding health care and as an important community resource as two of the reasons why he so readily accepted the position of community ambassador. “I have always felt CAC offers a unique mix of medical services in the context of a warm, friendly and very caring environment,” said Haza. “It is important that members of the communities we serve learn about the resources available to them. I am honored to work with this excellent organization,” he added.

Haza currently hosts a talk show, A Mano Limpia, focusing on current events and world news on WJAN TV and anchors the morning and evening news for WQBA radio. Haza, who is originally from the Dominican Republic, began his career as an attorney before becoming a journalist.
