NEW YORK,–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–September 22, 2003–Univision Network, the nation’s leading Spanish-language broadcast television network, today announced that Otto Padrón, has been promoted to Vice President of Programming and Promotions, Univision Network.
Padrón will remain based in Miami and will continue to report to Mario Rodriguez, President of Entertainment, Univision Television Networks. Sergio Romero, Director of On-Air Promotions; Kelly Mora, Director of Programming Research; and Joni Fernandez, Managing Producer of Program Continuity, will continue to serve in their current roles, reporting to Padrón.

Padrón began his television career in 1992 as an executive producer at the Telemundo Network. In this role he oversaw program productions ranging from magazine/variety shows, dramatic and reality series, and the Pan American Games. In 1994, he was named Telemundo’s Director of Programming and Production Administration, responsible for the network’s program development and program acquisitions units. His Univision career began in 1995 as Director of Programming Special Projects, overseeing key domestic shows in pre-development. He was named Univision’s Director of On-Air Promotions in 1996 and was promoted to Director of Network Programming in 1998. In these roles he set the highest standards for quality and competitiveness in the fields of programming acquisition, program scheduling, and program promotions.
Padrón was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Broadcast Communications from the University of Miami (1991). He served actively in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1988 and he is currently a captain in the Army Reserve.
