A star-studded audience at The Second Annual Dance Music Awards – set for Wednesday March 19th live on the sands of Miami Beach – will witness the renowned P Diddy perform a World Premier of his first ever dance track with last year’s co-host Kelis. P. Diddy has spent the last two summers in the Mediterranean clubbing resort of Ibiza and it was whilst on holiday there last year that he decided to make an entire album of dance music. P Diddy believes DanceStar USA to be the perfect platform to launch his new musical direction.
Recent Grammy Award winner Roger Sanchez will join Hollywood actresses Juliette Lewis and Roselyn Sanchez as the third host of the show and Paul Oakenfold featuring Shifty will perform ‘Ready Steady Go’ in his first live US television appearance. Telepopmusik, performing their hit single ‘Breathe’, as featured in the widely acclaimed Mitsubishi car commercial, rounds up what will undoubtedly be one of the most spectacular shows since the development of US dance music back in the 70s.
Roger Sanchez, last year’s inaugural DanceStar USA host who is still enjoying his recent Grammy win said: “I had so much fun presenting the first DanceStar USA and I’m so pleased to have been asked to do it again. Other live performers include Dirty Vegas, who are nominated in five award categories including Best Album and Record of the Year; Oscar G and Ralph Falcon who will perform their massive hit single ‘Dark Beat’ featuring OBA Frank Lord and additional performances by iio and DJ Sammy – one of the biggest selling album artists in dance music history.
An impressive selection of celebrity presenters have been preparing themselves for a night under the stars. Supermodel Naomi Campbell will be presenting an award together with Paris and Nicky Hilton, Jon Secada, the Miami Dolphins’ Cheerleaders and the most popular female on the internet Cindy Margolis.
Renowned names from the world of dance music will also present awards including: Paul Van Dyk, DJ Tiesto, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Pete Tong, The Crystal Method, BT, George Acosta, Josh Wink, Christopher Lawrence, Jellybean Benitez, Kristine W, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon, Louie Devito, Sandra Collins, Tracy Young, Vic Latino, Chris Cox and DJ Colette. A total of twenty-five awards will be presented including accolades for new categories such as ‘Best Use of Music in a Commercial’, ‘Best Movie Soundtrack’ and ‘Best Celebrity DJ’.
Popular east coast radio DJ and US dance music icon Liquid Todd will be making a rare on-stage appearance by opening the show with a live set as the audience take their seats.
