- Sign long-term arrangements with leading independent ice cream distributors – Frosty Freeze, Creamland Dairy, Price's Creamery, Gandy's Dairies, and Affiliated Foods, Inc. to better cover the Rocky Mountain, Plain states and Texas.

MODESTO, Calif., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Paleteria La Michoacana (“PLM”), the Modesto, California based manufacturer of Hispanic ice cream treats, announced finalizing the transition of its distribution to independent distributors in the Rocky Mountain region and parts of Texas. PLM signed long term agreements with leading independent distributors of frozen food and ice cream – Frosty Freeze (Colorado), Creamland Dairy (New Mexico), Price’s Creamery (West Texas – El Paso), Gandy’s Dairies (West Texas – Lubbock) and Affiliated Foods, Inc., who covers a 10 state area servicing over 1,000 independent supermarkets.

According to President, Ignacio Gutierrez, “We experienced a lot of growth in the last three years throughout the Rocky Mountain region and Texas. This is the next natural step for us. We want to provide more points of sales and better service levels to our customers as we continue to grow away from our core California market.” Gutierrez continues by stating, “We are well poised to grow when we decided to bring in new capital in 2011 to finance our growth by becoming more efficient in our plant, expand our distribution and build our service platform.”

“We have seen wonderful progress throughout the U.S. Southwest as more chains have requested we distribute our product through accepted independent distributors that can consistently service this vast geography,” according to Vice President, Patricia Gutierrez. Gutierrez continued, “We have worked with our former distributor and our new distributors extensively these past few months to insure a smooth transition to minimize any disruption to retailers and our customers throughout the U.S. Southwest.”

In closing, according to Ignacio Gutierrez, “The new system is expected to support even better service levels for customers (more frequent service, broader geographic coverage, etc.) and provide greater opportunities for the new independent distributors.” Gutierrez continued, “We are dedicated to delivering a great product safely at a fair price that the whole family can enjoy”.
