Fort Lauderdale, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–December 7, 2005–Vehicle owners looking to show their support for children and families can now make their feelings known to other motorists, thanks to a South Florida-based nonprofit organization.
Sheridan House Family Ministries, an interdenominational, faith-based group that provides assistance to children and families, has recently unveiled a Florida license plate that carries a “family values” theme. The tag, which can be viewed at http://www.familyvaluestag.com, is available to all vehicle owners at the tax collector’s office, county tag agencies, or when renewing a vehicle’s registration. The specialty plate costs $25 more than the standard Florida tag (the cost is tax deductible) plus a $2 processing fee.
“Since 1968, we have been positively impacting lives by offering services that promote the stability of the family unit,” said Sheridan House Family Ministries President Dr. Bob Barnes of the group’s residential care programs, family
counseling center, and outreach to single parents and children. “It’s clear that sound parenting and strong families produce healthy, happy, productive individuals, and we believe others understand that too.”
Each year Sheridan House reaches more than 90,000 individuals through its core services, seminars, Bob Barnes-authored books, audio and video tapes. Monies generated from the sale of the license plate will enable the organization to provide assistance to larger audiences at a new 57-acre campus that is currently under construction in Davie. Sheridan House accepts referrals from area churches and is privately funded through tax-deductible donations.
