Your World. Your Language.(SM) serves customers in eight languages, and will be available in San Francisco on October 18, 2006, and in surrounding areas within the next six weeks. The service will be rolled out in additional regions of the country over the course of the next twelve months.

When limited English speaking customers call 1-888-855-0811 they first choose their preferred language and service. A Language Line Services interpreter then connects the customer with the requested provider, and the service is completed through a three-way conversation. The Language Line Services interpreter stays on the line until the very end of the call, interpreting the entire conversation for the consumer.

According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the legal permanent resident flow in the U.S. in 2005 reached more than one million. Provenzano noted that most enter into multilingual communities with niche economies where they only need limited English proficiency to survive financially. As a result, many limited English speakers have difficulty conducting business outside of their own neighborhoods, making it difficult to access important services.
