MIAMI, FL,–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–May 12, 2003–Representatives from Florida’s public and private sector including bankers, lawyers, managers, engineers, and executives, completed the XXI Leadership Florida class. Hispanic Marketing & Communication Association, HMCA, President Elena del Valle, MBA, JD was one of the graduates.
“Leadership Florida provided me an opportunity to learn more about the rest of the state and the issues affecting our future,” said del Valle. “Through the program I was able to meet other leaders, learn from their experiences, and explore opportunities for growth for HMCA in Florida.”
Del Valle, an 18-year marketing and public relations veteran, has worked extensively with U.S. and international Hispanic markets. Prior to founding her own marketing and public relations firm six years ago, she headed the Hispanic practice at the largest independent public relations firm in Florida. Multilingual and a published author, she is a graduate of Leadership Miami, the Center for Creative Leadership, the National Hispana Leadership Institute, the Embassy of Spain Young Hispanic Americans, the Cuban American National Council, and the Harvard John. F. Kennedy School of Government leadership programs.
Leadership Florida, whose mission is “to build a strong, diverse, statewide network of leaders with a shared commitment to connect our communities and to make Florida a better place in which to live and to prosper,” brings together leaders from across the Florida to discuss issues of statewide impact including transportation, health, legislative and judicial issues, diversity, and growth. Participants in this year’s program, selected from among top candidates, attended sessions in: Haines City, Pensacola, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Miami.
