LOS ANGELES–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–February 5, 2003–RazorGator, Inc., a leading event ticket provider, announced today the launch of a new Spanish-language website to better provide the Hispanic community with sold-out and hard-to-find tickets to premium sports, concert and theater events worldwide. The site, a first of its kind for premium ticket sales, will enable the rapidly growing Spanish-speaking community in the United States, plus Spanish-speaking consumers internationally, to find the best seats to the hottest events in the U.S. and abroad.
The site, http://www.espanol.razorgator.com, will be an asset to Spanish-speaking customers who want to purchase event tickets using a site in their own language. RazorGator also provides full support to Spanish-speaking customers who wish to order tickets by phone.
In late January 2003, the Census Bureau reported that the Hispanic population is now the largest ethnic group in the United States, surpassing all other ethnic groups in number for the first time in U.S. history. Latinos comprise slightly more than 37 million of the American population, or nearly 13 percent. In addition, a study released last week from RoperASW and AOL on Hispanic online behavior revealed that Hispanic consumers purchase more online tickets for entertainment-related events than the national average (42% of Hispanics buy online tickets vs. 38% national average online ticket sales).
“Among the Hispanic and Latin communities, sporting events are skyrocketing in popularity, with interest growing well beyond professional soccer events and the World Cup,” said Doug Knittle, President and CEO of RazorGator. “We’ve seen extraordinary growth in ticket sales to Spanish-speaking customers over the last few years, and the launch of this web site, plus access to our friendly and expert bilingual customer service representatives via our toll-free number, allows us to better serve these customers.”
Major professional sports organizations – notably the NFL, NHL, and NBA – have all recently launched marketing campaigns and signed broadcast programming deals aimed at gaining more attention within the Hispanic community, both here in the United States and abroad. In addition, the star power of a growing number of professional Hispanic athletes, such as Eduardo Najera of the Dallas Mavericks, is driving Hispanic and Latin interest in a wider range of professional sports. “RazorGator recognizes our Spanish-speaking customers will increasingly want access to the best seats to professional sports and other events, and we provide a service to guarantee that,” said Knittle.
In addition to the Spanish site, RazorGator plans to launch a Japanese-language site in the near future to cater to the fast-growing Asian community.
