Red Lobster Unveils Fresh Design in El Paso

America's largest seafood restaurant opens new location featuring fresh design and decor


El Paso, TX–(PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE)–February 15, 2008–On Monday, Red Lobster will unveil its third El Paso restaurant, the first location in the city to showcase the brand’s fresh, “Bar Harbor” design concept. The new El Paso restaurant opens for dinner at 4 p.m. and invites guests to enjoy a menu of fresh fish, live Maine lobsters and traditional Red Lobster favorites in its revamped setting. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner starting Feb. 25.

With a crew of 131, the new 7,300 square foot restaurant seats 244 guests and features the company’s most contemporary design, including more natural looking decor, warmer lighting, colors and wood tones inside. According to Kim Lopdrup, president of Red Lobster, “The redesign’s inspiration comes from Bar Harbor, Maine, and blends a more sophisticated ambience with the casual feeling of a seaside restaurant.”

Increased seating will give the restaurant greater flexibility to seat large parties who often come to Red Lobster for celebrations, while still offering a more intimate setting for smaller parties.

The new El Paso Red Lobster is located at 1860 Joe Battle Blvd. It is the seventh restaurant to open as Red Lobster rolls out its fresh design nationwide, joining locations in Sherman, Texas, College Station, Texas, Reno, Nev., Lakewood, Co., Aurora, Co., and Yuma, Ariz.

Guests will notice new silverware and plateware, recently introduced nationwide, and special touches like sea salt and peppercorn grinders on every table. Updated menus and chef-crafted dishes from Senior Executive Chef Michael LaDuke emphasize Red Lobster’s commitment to the highest quality seafood prepared with culinary expertise.

The El Paso opening coincides with Lobsterfest, Red Lobster’s celebration of all things lobster. This year’s celebration includes the largest array of lobster preparations, including new Grilled Maine Lobster and Jumbo Shrimp and traditional favorites like Rock Island Stuffed Tilapia, fresh tilapia roasted with crab-and-seafood stuffing and topped with langostino lobster meat in a creamy lobster butter sauce. In addition, the new restaurant will offer a Today’s Fresh Fish menu, featuring up to eight species of fresh fish flown in from around the world to Red Lobster locations across North America. The fresh fish selection changes daily based on availability and local customer preferences.
