Regions Reaches out to North Georgia Spanish Speakers



Birmingham, AL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–August 18, 2004–Regions Bank has launched an advertising campaign throughout North Georgia, reaching out to Spanish-speaking customers with the message “Conozca Regions Bank. Su exito es lo que cuenta.” (“Get to know Regions Bank. Your success is what counts.”)

The campaign, which features radio and print advertising, is intended to help the bank better communicate with an increasingly diverse base of current and potential customers, said Peter D. “Pete” Miller, the Regions Financial Corp. East Region CEO in charge of banking operations for Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and East Tennessee.

“We have seen a significant increase in the number of Spanish-speaking customers coming into many of our North Georgia branches,” Miller said. “This campaign is one way we are reaching out to them to let them know that Regions speaks their language and will work hard to ensure that we meet their financial needs.”

In many North Georgia branch offices, Spanish-speaking bankers are available to speak with customers about their financial needs. Additionally, Spanish-speaking consumers who use the Internet can access information about Regions Bank, its products and services at the company’s recently updated and expanded Spanish Web site,

Regions’ customer assistance centers, which can be reached by calling 1-800-REGIONS, give callers an automated Spanish-language option, and access to bilingual Customer Service representatives is available. Regions Bank also offers Spanish-language brochures that describe its products and services.

Enrique J. Vela, Regions director of multicultural banking, oversees the North Georgia outreach initiative and heads the Hispanic marketing efforts for Regions.
