In connection with the announcement, Mr. Sanchez said:

“Sonora is proud to welcome quepasa.com as the next technology company to establish operations in the state capital of Hermosillo. Quepasa is representative of the sort of foreign investment the state of Sonora seeks to attract. The synergy that exists between quepasa’s redeployment into the Latin technology marketplace, and the the current rapid growth of skilled workers in the I.T. (information technology) sector in Sonora make this a perfect fit. In keeping with the long tradition of friendship between Hermosillo and Phoenix as ‘sister cities’, Quepasa’s shareholders and employees alike can count on the absolute commitment of the state of Sonora, Mexico, to help them achieve both their short and long term goals in conjunction with the re-launch of quepasa.com.”

“My personal relationship with Jeffrey Peterson, quepasa’s founder and current C.E.O., dates back to 1998, when he first founded the business. It is my strong belief that his renewed vision and commitment to the Latin technology markets is well-founded and comes at an important time in quepasa’s evolution. Bienvenidos a Sonora, y estan en su casa. (Welcome to Sonora, please feel at home).”

Mr. Sanchez has been the official representative of the government of the state of Sonora, Mexico, in Arizona, since 1997, and currently serves as liason to Arizona Governor Jane Dee Hull for the Mexican government. He studied at the United States Military Academy at West Point, in New York, and is a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania.

In connection with the announcement, Mr. Peterson, CEO of quepasa.com, said:

“Quepasa is pleased to announce the launch of its Mexican operations. Our activities in Hermosillo, Mexico, will be focused on programming, development, and design related to the quepasa.com portal. As quepasa ventures outside the U.S. borders for the first time in it’s history, our neighbor state of Sonora, Mexico was a natural selection, principally due to it’s close proximity, economic stability, and abundance of qualified technical talent.”

“We are pleased to have the full support and commitment of the Government of the State of Sonora in establishing our operations in Hermosillo.”

Mr. Sanchez will join quepasa’s advisory board immediately, and participate in the coordination of it’s activities in Mexico.
