`Premios Fox Sports’ to be Celebrated in Miami Beach, Fla., on Dec. 15, 2004 is Confirmed for a 2nd Year

Mexico City, Mexico–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–August 5, 2004–Fox Pan American Sports announced at a press conference the details which are making this year’s 2nd Annual Premios Fox Sports to be an even larger event celebrated on Dec. 15, 2004, in Miami Beach, Fla.

Of the many details announced, there was much emphasis given to the categories being awarded as well as the nominees within each category. 2nd Annual Premios Fox Sports:

1. – Outstanding Latin America Soccer Player

2. – Outstanding Latin American Soccer Team

3. – Favorite Goal of the Copa Toyota Libertadores 2004

4. – Best Goalie of the Copa Toyota Libertadores 2004

5. – Outstanding Latin American Soccer Coach

6. – Outstanding Latin American Motor Sport Driver

7. – Outstanding Latin American Baseball Player

8. – Outstanding Latin American Basketball Player

9. – Outstanding Female Latin American Tennis Placer

10. – Outstanding Male Latin American Tennis Player

11. – Outstanding Latin American Golfer

12. – Outstanding Latin American Boxer

Aside from these (12) categories special recognition will be given to distinguished individuals for their achievements in their respective sports as well as their contributions to the community. The list of deserving athletes of these special awards as well as the final winners of each of the (12) categories will be announced at the award ceremony taking place on Dec. 15, 2004 at the Jackie Gleason Theater of Performing Arts in Miami Beach, Fla.

Among those athletes and personalities nominated for the 2nd Annual Premios Fox Sports we find true stars of various international sports in 2004 such as Javier Aguirre, Fernando Cavenaghi, Paola Suarez, Juan Carlos Henao, Hugo Sanchez, Esteban Loaiza, Sammy Sosa, John Eduis Viafara Mina, Michel Jourdain Jr., Eduardo Najera, Guillermo Coria, Oscar de la Hoya, among many others.

As it was last year, the 2nd Annual Premios Fox Sports shall be even further adorned with the assistance and participation of diverse personalities from the artistic world. The participating celebrities will be announced within the following weeks.

The 2nd Annual Premios Fox Sports is the only televised event of its genre celebrated in Spanish through all of the Americas in order to award the best Latin-American athletes that reside both within and outside the United States who stand out due to their achievements and accomplishments in their respective sport, as well as give recognition to their contributions to the community. This award ceremony will be televised in the United States through Fox Sports en Español which will reach more than 6.3 million households and through Fox Sports Latin America for the rest of the Spanish-speaking Americas which covers more than 13.8 million households including Argentina, Bolivia, the Caribbean, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
