Each story presented at this ceremony is a celebration of the human spirit, honoring extraordinary Latina women who have overcome tremendous odds while raising their families – women who have gone on to affect positive change in their communities and send the message that, despite circumstantial barriers, there is hope for success.

Honorees at this event include a 33-year old mother of six attending school to become a physician while donating her time at local hospitals and community events for health screenings and a father who came from Mexico as a “brasero” (farm worker) and raised 11 children who all graduated from college, while helping other parents to do the same for their children.

“We admire these individuals and want to take the time to recognize their extraordinary contributions not only to their own families, but their contributions to their communities and the United States,” said Laura Lentz president of LFM.
