Tampico Beverages Appoints Richard M. Ross to Vice President of Marketing

Chicago, IL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–March 9, 2006–Chicago-based Tampico Beverages announced today that it has appointed Richard M. Ross to Vice President of Marketing. The announcement was made by company CEO Scott Miller. In his new position, Ross, 45, will continue to build the company’s brand equity through new product innovation, consumer and trade advertising and promotions and public relations, in domestic and international markets.

Ross joined Tampico Beverages in 2001 as Director of Marketing supporting the company’s global marketing efforts. In 2005, Ross was elevated to Senior Director of Marketing. Overseeing a team of seven, Ross leads ethnic consumer research, supports Hispanic-targeted new product development, creates grassroots marketing and event sponsorships, coordinates Hispanic promotions and Spanish-language media and leads public relations and advertising initiatives. Ross has also been instrumental in launching Tampico’s website at http://www.tampico.com and bringing to market new flavors, new packages and new product lines including Tampico Plus and Tampico Flavored Water Beverages. During his tenure at Tampico Beverages, Ross has helped grow the brand to become the #1 Hispanic-indexing non-alcoholic, non-carbonated beverage as well as the #1 overall selling refrigerated juice drink in U.S. groceries surpassing leading competitors Sunny Delight, Minute Maid Drinks and Hawaiian Punch.

Prior to joining Tampico Beverages, Ross has held positions of increasing responsibility at Kraft Foods, Inc., The Coca Cola Company, Intel and Zipple. During his award-winning career, Ross has become a specialist in ethnic branding and product development within the Hispanic, African American and Jewish niches and is often invited to speak at Hispanic marketing conferences throughout the U.S. Since 2004, Ross has served as an Affiliate Faculty Member at the Center for the Study of Hispanic Marketing Communication at Florida State University.
