The Education Fund collects used computers, refurbishes them, and then gives the computers to students and families so that they have the tools needed to learn and expand their skills and knowledge. In addition to receiving the computers, students and their families receive computer training to develop the skills they need.
Since the start of the Citibank FamilyTech program, more than 8,000 students and their families have received training and computers through 13 Miami-Dade County public schools that have signed up for the school-based program. This is the first time summer programs and their students have participated.
