White Plains, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–April 12, 2005–As part of this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards Show and Conference, Heineken USA will once again put into action the Heineken Green Ribbons Initiative. The program is a national effort to raise awareness and funds to support music education programs and emerging artists in Hispanic communities across the country. For the third consecutive year, a donation will be made by Heineken USA to the Celia Cruz Foundation. In the past two years, the Heineken Green Ribbons Initiatives has donated $50,000 for the foundation.

As part of the effort, Heineken will design a special green ribbon, accompanied by a customized Heineken Giant Media Wall that will travel around selected areas around Miami. To symbolize its support of music education and emerging artists, attending celebrities, music talent, industry influentials, media personalities and consumers will be asked to sign the Heineken Giant Media Wall and wear the green ribbons to show their support of music education and emerging artists in Miami. In turn, Heineken will make a special donation to the Celia Cruz Foundation on behalf of all that wear the green ribbons. Over the past two years, five thousand people across the county have signed the Ribbons to show their support for this important cause.

Founded by music industry legend Celia Cruz, The Celia Cruz Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for under-privileged students wishing to study music. During her 50-year span in the music industry, Ms. Cruz has been a tireless supporter of music education issues in the Hispanic community.
