The upcoming awards gala will also include a new and first ever “Entertainer of the Year” (Artista Premio Lo Nuestro del Año) category, as well as a new “Collaboration of the Year” (Colaboración del Año) which includes artists from all genres.
Nominees were selected from charts compiled by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), the world’s leading provider of airplay tracking for the entertainment industry for the time period of October 1, 2008 to September 30, 2009. Winners are determined by popular vote. Last year’s edition of “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” set a new audience record reaching 12.5 million viewers who watched some or all of the broadcast.
