Milwaukee, WI–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–September 19, 2005–The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) will present Ford Motor Company with its 2005 “Corporation of the Year” Award for their long-standing dedication to the economic development of Hispanic businesses. This prestigious award will be presented during the USHCC 26th Annual National Convention & Business Expo in Milwaukee at the Awards Gala Dinner on Saturday, September 17th, 2005.

Each year, the USHCC honors Hispanic chambers and businesses, as well as corporate and government advocates, that have attained or contributed to business excellence and have showed a commitment to the growth and well-being of Hispanic entrepreneurs. The “Corporation of the Year” award is presented to a company that has a proven and long-standing record of excellence in the Hispanic community. The award also pays tribute to the illustrious achievements and innovations that have made a measurable impact on the economic development of our nation’s Hispanic community.

Among the reasons Ford was recognized with this award was its continued efforts to foster the advancement of the Hispanic business community. These include the unique entrepreneurial programs such as the Ford Motor Company Networking Seminar, a structured one day event designed to generate business opportunities from corporate to minority supplier and from minority supplier to minority supplier and Mi Negocio, an online Spanish-speaking business community for Latino entrepreneurs. Ford Motor Company Fund has supported the USHCC Foundation’s BizFest since 2004. This national youth entrepreneurship training camp teaches students entrepreneurial skills and leadership goals. The partnership between Ford and the USHCC Foundation led to a first ever BizFest focused on the automotive industry.
