USHCC Selects ECG to Promote 25th Annual Convention

Washington, DC & Austin, TX–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–June 14, 2004—The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) has selected Estrada Communications Group (ECG) to promote its 25th Annual National Convention and Business Expo, scheduled for Austin, TX., September 15-18, 2004. The organization celebrates 25 years of Hispanic entrepreneurship and its influence on the nation’s economy.

The convention’s Honorary Co-Chairmen are Gary Cowger, President of GM North America and J. Terrence Lanni, Chairman and CEO of the MGM MIRAGE. The convention’s Host Chairman is Massey Villarreal, USHCC Region III Board Member and President and CEO of Precision Task Group in Houston, TX.

Chamber executives, Fortune 500 business leaders and Hispanic elected officials will convene in Austin for four days of networking, discussion and sharing of information. Presentations, workshops and forums will provide participants with insights into the critical issues facing Hispanic business owners; including how to access contract opportunities, increase sales/revenues and manage business and personal finances. Attendees will meet with corporate and government-purchasing representatives, explore franchise opportunities, conduct interviews with corporate and government recruiters and hear from leading business experts about current economic business trends.

“ECG is one of the nation’s most recognized Latino-owned agencies with a broad base of corporate experience and knowledge of the Hispanic community,” said J.R. Gonzales, USHCC’s Acting President & CEO. “Their expertise in the area of marketing communications will be a great resource in promoting our silver anniversary as the nation’s most valuable networking event for Hispanic business owners, corporate sponsors and chamber executives.”

Together with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Association of Mexican American Chamber of Commerce (TAMACC), the USHCC convention promises to be a valuable opportunity for participants to gain information related to the growth and expansion of their businesses. The event will include a free two-day EXPO, where registrants and the public can visit more than 200 exhibitors representing major U.S. corporations, Hispanic and international enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions. The EXPO will also feature a Youth & Career Pavilion hosted by the USHCC Foundation where prospective job seekers can learn about and apply for career opportunities.

“We are pleased to again work with one of the premier and highly respected Hispanic organizations in the nation,” said ECG Managing Partner Ron Estrada. “USHCC has a 25 year history of serving Latino business owners as well as its many supporters who recognize the financial benefits associated with the Hispanic business sector and consumer market.”

ECG previously worked with USHCC and LATINA Style Magazine in the creation and launch of Wells Fargo’s “Anna Maria Arias Memorial Fund,” which provides cash awards to deserving Latina-owned businesses throughout the country.

ECG operates offices in Austin, TX. and Los Angeles, CA. and provides Hispanic marketing communications counsel to major corporations across the nation, among them: AT&T, Advantica (Denny’s), Anheuser-Busch, Bank One, Lopez Foods, Marathon Oil, McDonald’s, MCI, Pizza Hut, SBC, Univision TV Network, Wal-Mart, and Wells Fargo.
