Virginia Beach, VA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–March 12, 2007–Do you wake up with the sun to hit the hiking trail in pursuit of the highest peak? Do you go head to head with the mighty marlin in an all-out battle of wills? Do you seek solace in a quiet moment between you and Mother Nature? Virginia Beach wants to know: How do you “Live the Life?”
The Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has launched the Live the Life Video Contest. The Grand Prize Winner will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be included in a national advertising campaign. He or she will be a model for Virginia Beach’s 2008 advertising campaign, which could include newspaper, magazine and Web advertising.
To enter the Live the Life Video Contest, Virginia Beach wants to know how consumers embody the spirit of the Beach destination. The Virginia Beach experience is much more than time spent in a sandy place. It’s an emotion, a passion, a reason for jumping out of bed each morning – a joie de vivre. Here at the Beach, days are spent kayaking with dolphins, jet skiing through the waves, hanging ten on a surfboard, and devoting hours to enjoying the perfect meal. Embark on sport fishing adventures, hike for miles through a wildlife refuge and simply indulge in relaxation while lounging on sun-drenched beaches.
What a life. The Virginia Beach CVB wants to celebrate those who feel those same passions – those who relish a physical escapade, enjoy exploring nature’s gifts and dedicate themselves to getting the most out of life. Lose yourself in the adventure. Find yourself along the way.
To enter, contestants are asked to create a 2-minute video demonstrating how they “Live the Life” and include a brief testimonial of what “Live the Life” truly means to them. Contestants can submit their entries from February 16– April 12, 2007 in two ways: either online or through the mail. More information about the criteria for videos and how to submit the videos can be found on http://www.livethelife.com.
Voting for the contest will occur in three rounds, beginning May 2. Each round, five different Semifinalists will be posted on the Live the Life Video Contest Web site, accessible from http://www.livethelife.com, putting 15 Semifinalists in the running for the Grand Prize. Visitors to the site will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video in three separate rounds, beginning May 2 through June 12, deciding who goes to the final round. From June 18-29, Virginia Beach’s Web visitors will again vote for their favorite Finalist submission to determine the Grand Prize Winner, who will be announced on June 29. It is completely up to the public to determine which Finalist will be the face in Virginia Beach’s 2008 advertising campaign. The winner also will receive a vacation for four – with family or friends – to Virginia Beach, to include airfare, hotel accommodations, meal vouchers and attraction passes. And, what’s a vacation without a little spending money? The winner also will receive $250, perfect for beach souvenirs and other memorabilia. The competition is open to U.S. residents only and contestants must be at least 18 years of age (19 years of age in Alabama). All rules and regulations for the Live the Life Video Contest can be found on http://www.livethelife.com.
The Virginia Beach “Live the Life” campaign was born three years ago and focuses on the emotions visitors feel when they leave their day-to-day lives and worries behind, and simply experience the joy of a Virginia Beach vacation. Here is a place where people truly reconnect with their own personal agendas. It’s an experience that visitors will take home with them and remember for a lifetime – whether that experience was a renewed romance, a discovered love of surfing, reeling in a record striper, a career-best round of golf, or simply learning to relax again.
