A 1:30 pm press conference will take place on the grounds of The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, located at Broad and Christian Streets.
This year the foundation is extremely delighted to partner with Jefferson University Hospitals. The partnership has produced the first promotional, public service, inflatable balloon: You Gotta Wash Your Hands! The campaign’s “Aerial Reminder” is a 13x20x20 feet helium balloon manufactured by Dynamic Displays, Detroit, MI, and designed by two area high school students. Attending will be the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Rachel Sorokin and Carmhiel J. Brown, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations and Communications for Jefferson University Hospitals.
Clear Channel Outdoor will sponsor thirty-five, “Aerial Reminder” Public Service Billboards. The billboards will feature the image of Philadelphia icon … Jerry Blavat, “The Geator with the Heater” … reinforcing the campaign’s slogan: You Gotta Wash Your Hands! And “The Geator” will be in the house. The stunningly bright, Crown Lights, high atop The PECO Building, will become a revolving “Aerial Reminder,” illuminating the night sky, beaming out the campaign’s message during National Clean Hands Week starting September 21 -27, 2008. Campaign T-Shirts for attending media when worn, will be deemed, “Elevated Reminders.”
The first Harweda A. Shannon Memorial Award will go to Samia Merritt and Michael Quinones for her concept-design and his prototype model of the clean hands balloon. Each student will receive a check for $500.00, a Certificate of Merit and Dinner for Four at The Bottom of The Sea Restaurant. Fifty of the dynamic CAPA Dancers will dance the signature song from: You Gotta Wash Your Hands! The Musical on the coliseum-like steps of the former Ridgeway Library, now a PA Landmark.
