They are committed to providing programs that address the anxiety, depression and other mental health issues that result from violence.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will support community leadership training including:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>First Responders Counseling \u2013 Training first responders to support victims through the loss of a loved one and to serve as family spokespersons and liaisons;<\/li>\n<li>Bereavement Counseling \u2013 Professional counseling and peer to peer support groups;<\/li>\n<li>Activism \u2013 Promoting civic duty and community pride by mentoring youth to be involved in the quality improvement efforts and to be community leaders by participating in community boards and other CBO based efforts;<\/li>\n<li>Summer Recreational Programs \u2013 Partnering with P.A.L. and NYPD to provide safe recreation space in closed street environments.
