Originally, <span class=\"xn-location\">Fresno<\/span> was the 7<sup>th<\/sup> city in the pilot program but requested to be removed from the bill last week due to intense opposition among <span class=\"xn-location\">Fresno<\/span> city leaders who will be voting on their own opposition resolution next week.<\/p>\n<p>In <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles<\/span>, the powerful Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACDP) came out against SB 930 in a <a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3614601-1&amp;h=3629690060&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Falcoholjustice.org%2Fimages%2Fdownloadables%2Fother-letters%2FLACDP_SB930_OPPOSE.pdf&amp;a=letter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">letter<\/a> made public before a City Hall <a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3614601-1&amp;h=1504468895&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Falcoholjustice.org%2Fimages%2Fmedia%2Fpress%2520releases%2F7-28-22_SB930_LA-PR_MltWtr.pdf&amp;a=opposition+rally\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">opposition rally<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;For the life of me, with as many priorities as the state of <span class=\"xn-location\">California<\/span> has right now, it&#8217;s baffling that a state senator would continue to push a bill for those people who say I can&#8217;t drink enough by <span class=\"xn-chron\">2 a.m.<\/span>, I need options for another two hours,&#8221; said <\/i>City Council Member Paul Krekorian<i>. &#8220;\u2026It&#8217;s outrageous, we have to defeat this bill.&#8221; <\/i><\/p>\n<p>One of the main points of opposition to SB 930 is that there is no &#8220;local control&#8221; when it comes to alcohol because the danger, harms and costs will not stay in <span class=\"xn-location\">West Hollywood<\/span> where the drinking occurs.\u00a0If this bill becomes law, <span class=\"xn-location\">Los Angeles<\/span> will be surrounded by late night drinkers &#8212; drivers traveling drunk back through other districts in the early morning commute hours.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;This is a dangerous, misguided bill,&#8221;<\/i> stated City Council Member Mitch O&#8217;Farrell. <i>&#8220;Look at the data <span class=\"xn-location\">Sacramento<\/span>! Stop trying to impose your dangerous ideologies across the state.
