The number of condominiums sold across the state slightly decreased 0.2% to 17,164 sales, while townhome sales remained virtually the same at 11,575 sales (compared to 11,579 last year).<\/p>\n<div id=\"prni_dvprnejpgd745left\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"width: 100%; text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"prnejpgd745left\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 128px;\" title=\"Texas Association of Realtors logo.\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/1317682\/Texas_Realtors_Logo.jpg\" alt=\"Texas Association of Realtors logo.\" align=\"middle\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The report analyzes condominium and townhome data statewide as well as the <span class=\"xn-location\">Austin<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">Round Rock<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Dallas-Fort Worth<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">Arlington<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">El Paso<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Houston<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">The Woodlands<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">Sugar Land<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">McAllen<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">Edinburg<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">Mission<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">San Antonio<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"xn-location\">New Braunfels<\/span> metropolitan statistical areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While median prices have gone up, condominiums and townhomes remained a very popular living option for Texans across the state over the past year,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Russell Berry<\/span>, chairman of Texas Realtors. &#8220;There was a significant increase in condominium and townhome sales in the previous reporting period, and this year&#8217;s report shows that the demand for this property type is still high.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Median price increased for both condominiums and townhomes. Statewide, the median condominium sales price in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2022<\/span> was <span class=\"xn-money\">$265,000<\/span>, a 10.4% increase over <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2021<\/span>. The median sales price for townhomes was <span class=\"xn-money\">$334,695<\/span> in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2022<\/span>, an increase of 17.8% from the previous June. The average price-per-square-foot in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2022<\/span> reached <span class=\"xn-money\">$274<\/span> for condominiums and <span class=\"xn-money\">$199<\/span> for townhomes.<\/p>\n<p>Housing inventory for <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> condominiums decreased from 2.2 months of inventory in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2021<\/span> to 1.8 months in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2022<\/span>, while the inventory of townhomes increased from 1.8 to 1.9 months. <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> condominiums spent an average of 28 days on the market in June 2022\u2014down from 48 days in June 2021\u2014while townhomes went from 36 days to 32.<\/p>\n<p>The dollar volume of all condominiums sold in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> between <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 2021<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2022<\/span> totaled <span class=\"xn-money\">$5,669,658,653<\/span>, an 11.5% increase from the previous reporting period, and dollar volume totaled <span class=\"xn-money\">$3,912,111,843<\/span> in townhome sales, a 13.5% increase.<\/p>\n<p>Berry concluded, &#8220;Condominiums and townhomes appeal to people for a variety of reasons. They often require lower maintenance and upkeep or come with desirable amenities and attractive price points. But they also require belonging to an owners association that has fees and restrictions.
