Of that amount, <span class=\"xn-money\">$964 million<\/span> went to diverse suppliers, representing 39.75% of the total expenditures \u2013 far exceeding the 22% goal set by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).<\/p>\n<p>Nearly half of SDG&amp;E&#8217;s diverse business expenditures, or <span class=\"xn-money\">$470 million<\/span>, were with local companies in the <span class=\"xn-location\">San Diego<\/span> region.
