said <span class=\"xn-person\">Kyndall Cox<\/span>, Director of the Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>The Government of <span class=\"xn-location\">Ireland<\/span> will co-sponsor the 2023 Frederick Douglass Global Fellows in\u00a0honor of the\u00a0meeting between 27-year-old abolitionist <span class=\"xn-person\">Frederick Douglass<\/span> and the great Irish reformer <span class=\"xn-person\">Daniel O&#8217;Connell<\/span> in <span class=\"xn-location\">Dublin<\/span> in 1845 \u2013 an experience that expanded Douglass&#8217; view of social injustice and influenced his style of agitating for positive change through non-violent social and political efforts in <span class=\"xn-location\">the United States<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just as Douglass&#8217; style of agitating for positive social change through non-violent social and political efforts was influenced by his meeting with <span class=\"xn-person\">Daniel O&#8217;Connell<\/span>, the Fellows&#8217; future changemaking efforts will be shaped by their comparative study of international peacebuilders and the personal connections they forge with their peers during the program,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">James P.
