This activity represents 2.8% of the total number of homes sold and 3.6% of total dollar volume of residential sales.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prni_dvprnejpgf6e0left\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"width: 100%; text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"prnejpgf6e0left\" style=\"width: 400px; height: 128px;\" title=\"Texas Association of Realtors logo.\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/1317682\/4257151\/Texas_Realtors_Logo.jpg\" alt=\"Texas Association of Realtors logo.\" align=\"middle\"\/><\/div>\n<p>While the median home price for international buyers, at <span class=\"xn-money\">$320,800<\/span>, is lower than the overall <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> median of <span class=\"xn-money\">$342,000<\/span>, the average purchase price for international buyers was <span class=\"xn-money\">$446,100<\/span>. This suggests that while the majority of international buyers purchased homes priced close to or below the <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> median, a subset of international buyers bought significantly more expensive homes, driving up the average and total dollar volume.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly half (49%) of international buyers opted for all-cash transactions. This indicates that many of those buyers had a desire and means to purchase property without obtaining a mortgage. The report also revealed that a significant portion (61%) of international buyers already resided in the U.S. on visas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> has long been one of the most popular states for international buyers,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Marcus Phipps<\/span>, 2023 Chairman of the Texas Realtors. &#8220;Our strong economy, diverse population and high quality of life make the Lone Star State an attractive destination.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to a National Association of Realtors nationwide report of international homebuying activity, 11.7% of all international buyers of residential property in the U.S. purchased a home in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span>, behind only <span class=\"xn-location\">Florida<\/span> (23%) and <span class=\"xn-location\">California<\/span> (12.2%).<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">Mexico<\/span> led significantly in terms of country of origin for foreign homebuyers in <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span>, accounting for 41% of purchases. The other top countries were <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> (8%), <span class=\"xn-location\">India<\/span> (7%), <span class=\"xn-location\">Nigeria<\/span> (5%) and <span class=\"xn-location\">Venezuela<\/span> (5%), showing a diverse international interest in the <span class=\"xn-location\">Texas<\/span> real estate market.<\/p>\n<p><b>About the <\/b><b>Texas International Residential Transactions Report<br \/><\/b>This study was conducted by the National Association of REALTORS<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> for Texas REALTORS<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.
