This meet comes on the heels of the nonprofit&#8217;s first successful Track &amp; Field event, &#8220;Race to Gately,&#8221; held in <span class=\"xn-location\">Chicago&#8217;s<\/span> Pullman neighborhood in December of 2022. This will be BOWA Gives&#8217; first girls-only, amateur Track and Field meet dedicated to elementary through high school student-athletes.<\/p>\n<p>BOWA\u00a0Gives\u00a0is\u00a0honored to\u00a0have\u00a0the\u00a0presence\u00a0of two phenomenal\u00a0athletes\u00a0joining us\u00a0at\u00a0the Girls&#8217; Invite. <span class=\"xn-location\">USA<\/span> Olympian and Big Ten Champion <span class=\"xn-person\">Anavia Battle<\/span>, along with two-time Silver\u00a0World\u00a0Champion and\u00a0Chicago\u00a0native\u00a0Shamier Little\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0there to inspire,\u00a0mentor, and cheer on the young athletes while they compete, keeping with BOWA Gives&#8217; mission to use sports as a means of empowerment and mentorship.<\/p>\n<p>Anavia\u00a0Battle, a\u00a0decorated\u00a0sprinter,\u00a0has\u00a0qualified\u00a0for the U.S.\u00a0Women&#8217;s\u00a0Olympic team.\u00a0The second\u00a0special guest,\u00a0Shamier Little is a world-class sprinter and hurdler with three\u00a0NCAA Championships and a spot in the U.S. World Championship team, a 2023 USATF Championship win on her resume.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be a two-day meet, including all track and field events. Weaved throughout the weekend, the young competitors will have opportunities to connect with former female student-athletes like Battle and Little to gain some personal insights and lessons learned during their athletic careers. This event will be a part of our continued partnership with the Chicago\u00a0Park\u00a0District\u00a0and\u00a0promises to\u00a0be\u00a0a\u00a0shining\u00a0opportunity\u00a0for\u00a0young\u00a0female athletes to grow and compete.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ashley\u00a0Ehimwenman, Co-founder of BOWA Gives believes that &#8220;Being a former female student-athlete, I know firsthand the significant role of sports in crafting the woman I am today.
