These strategies and successes are outlined in the preprint study,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medrxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2023.06.01.23290807v1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"> &#8220;Implementation of Uniform Processes of Care Across an Academic Health System During the Initial COVID-19 Pandemic Surge and Their Association with Outcomes.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-org\">Yale&#8217;s<\/span> resulting mortality rate during the pandemic was 34% lower than the national average across all racial and ethnic groups. The <span class=\"xn-org\">Yale<\/span> team says uniformity of care made a major difference in promoting health equity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While health equity remains a significant challenge in <span class=\"xn-location\">the United States<\/span>, during the COVID-19 pandemic, <span class=\"xn-org\">Yale&#8217;s<\/span> action plan successfully reduced mortality rates across various patient groups,&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.yale.edu\/profile\/gary-desir\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Gary D\u00e9sir, MD<\/a>,\u00a0chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, senior author of the paper, and event host. &#8220;At this summit, we will explore how <span class=\"xn-org\">Yale&#8217;s<\/span> strategies reduced health care disparities.
