The results show that Arizonans overwhelmingly support specific policy actions from leaders and lawmakers to increase support and resources to help Arizonans attain a degree or certificate. The poll also showed that voters want to see candidates they are considering voting for this November supporting these policies.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prni_dvprnejpg74e3left\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"width: 100%; text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"prnejpg74e3left\" title=\"Education Forward Arizona\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/2533778\/Ed_fwd_Logo_v2.jpg\" alt=\"Education Forward Arizona\" align=\"middle\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Key findings from respondents include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>Six in ten voters<\/b> favor &#8220;doing more&#8221; to increase the share of Arizonans with education and training beyond high school.\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Support for this idea crosses all major demographic groups, including party affiliation, gender, age, race\/ethnicity and income levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>Three in four Arizonans<\/b> would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supports <span class=\"xn-location\">Arizona&#8217;s<\/span> <u><a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4280918-1&amp;h=479140808&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Feducationforwardarizona.org%2Fprogress%2Faz-60-action-plan%2F&amp;a=attainment+goal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">attainment goal<\/a><\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Voters <b>strongly support policies to make career\/technical education programs and college more accessible and affordable<\/b>, and there is broad support for increasing the number of <span class=\"xn-location\">Arizona<\/span> high school students who complete FAFSA.\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>To highlight:\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>95% <\/b>support increasing access to career training and readiness programs, including apprenticeships, internships and professional certificate training programs<\/li>\n<li><b>93% <\/b>support expanding access to advanced placement and dual enrollment courses that allow high school students to earn college credits (with 64% strongly supporting)<\/li>\n<li><b>81% <\/b>support waiving fees and auto-enrolling eligible students in programs to earn college credits prior to high school graduation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;We said it after the legislative session ended, but this data bears repeating it: the state budget missed the mark,&#8221; said Education Forward Arizona President and CEO <span class=\"xn-person\">Rich Nickel<\/span>. &#8220;This data makes it shockingly clear that there is a fundamental disconnect between policymakers and what Arizonans want to see from them regarding supporting increased attainment of education and training after high school. This data should be a wake up call.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Education Forward Arizona and Helios&#8217; recent study, &#8220;<u><a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4280918-1&amp;h=2107426044&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.helios.org%2Fbillions-to-gain%2F&amp;a=Billions+to+Gain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Billions to Gain<\/a><\/u>,&#8221; shows that if <span class=\"xn-location\">Arizona<\/span> addresses barriers to postsecondary education, communities stand to benefit, to the tune of <span class=\"xn-money\">$5 billion<\/span> in new revenue. But <span class=\"xn-location\">Arizona<\/span> reaching the <u><a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4280918-1&amp;h=3388680752&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Feducationforwardarizona.org%2Fprogress%2Faz-60-action-plan%2F&amp;a=Achieve60AZ+goal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Achieve60AZ goal<\/a><\/u>\u2014which is 60% of working-age adults having some form of postsecondary education by 2030\u2013is critical to achieving that new revenue.
