Alternative bus transportation will be provided to assist passengers.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prni_dvprnejpg3770left\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"width: 100%; text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"prnejpg3770left\" title=\"LOSSAN AGENCY\" src=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/2366709\/LOSSAN_AGENCY.jpg\" alt=\"LOSSAN AGENCY\" align=\"middle\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The 16-day closure will enable the replacement and reconstruction of the La Ca\u00f1ada Honda Bridge, a 127-year-old steel viaduct over Honda Creek in <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara County<\/span>. The bridge is a critical piece of infrastructure on the 351-mile LOSSAN Rail Corridor, which supports passenger rail and freight service through <span class=\"xn-location\">Ventura<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara<\/span>, and <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span> Counties. The Project is led by the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and funded by LOSSAN through grants from the <span class=\"xn-location\">State of California<\/span> with additional support from UPRR. The bridge replacement improves long-term service reliability for rail passengers and strengthens operational efficiency. It will result in reduced travel times, increased ridership and service reliability, and lower GHG emissions by removing existing speed restrictions and allowing for future service expansion.<\/p>\n<p>To enable the replacement of the bridge, the following service adjustments will be in place from <span class=\"xn-chron\">August 1 through August 16, 2025<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b><i>Track Closure:<\/i><\/b>\u00a0The bridge replacement requires closure of the rail corridor between <span class=\"xn-location\">Goleta<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span>, resulting in the suspension of train service from <span class=\"xn-chron\">Friday, August 1<\/span> through <span class=\"xn-chron\">Saturday, August 16, 2025<\/span>. All trains will terminate or originate in <span class=\"xn-location\">Goleta<\/span> during this period, with normal service resuming on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Sunday, August 17, 2025<\/span>. Passengers traveling north of <span class=\"xn-location\">Goleta<\/span> must disembark at the Santa Barbara Train Station and board an available bus connection. All bus connections will be through the Santa Barbara Train Station.<\/li>\n<li><b><i>Bus Connections:<\/i><\/b>\u00a0Alternative bus transportation will be provided between <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara<\/span>. Bus connections will be available for southbound trains 774 and 794 from <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span> to <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara<\/span>, and for northbound trains 761 and 779 from <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara<\/span> to <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span>. The buses will follow Route 17 between <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Barbara<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">San Luis Obispo<\/span>, with stops in UC Santa Barbara, <span class=\"xn-location\">Solvang<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Buellton<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Santa Maria<\/span>, and <span class=\"xn-location\">Grover Beach<\/span>.
