Be sure to place a cover on the pool when it&#8217;s not in use. <\/li>\n<li>Take <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/cpr.html\" target=\"_blank\">cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)<\/a> classes to help people who are drowning or choking. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Protection against sun and heat<\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>To avoid dehydration or heat exhaustion, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Avoid beverages that contain alcohol, caffeine or too much sugar. <\/li>\n<li>Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Also wear sunglasses and a hat that covers your face and ears. <\/li>\n<li>Apply <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fda.gov\/ForConsumers\/ByAudience\/ForWomen\/FreePublications\/ucm126246.htm\" target=\"_blank\">sunscreen<\/a> with sun protection factor (SPF) 15 or higher a half an hour before any sun exposure. Reapply several times a day, or according to the product directions. <\/li>\n<li>Keep your lips hydrated with a lip balm that contains sunscreen. <\/li>\n<li>Avoid direct <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/ency\/patientinstructions\/000378.htm\" target=\"_blank\">sun exposure<\/a> when ultraviolet (UV) rays are at their strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. <\/li>\n<li>Try to spend the majority of your time protected by cool, shady areas. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Food safety<\/b><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>If you&#8217;re camping or you plan to do any outdoor cooking, use a cooler with ice to keep your food refrigerated. Make sure to keep the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/shared\/PDF\/Danger_Zone.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">cooling temperature<\/a> (PDF) at 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below. <\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands thoroughly before handling any food. <\/li>\n<li>To avoid cross contamination, separate raw meat from other food, and place meat on its own plate or tray. <\/li>\n<li>Make sure meats are cooked and served at an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fsis.usda.gov\/shared\/PDF\/Danger_Zone.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">internal temperature<\/a> (PDF) of 140 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. <\/li>\n<li>Immediately <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodsafety.gov\/keep\/basics\/chill\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">refrigerate or freeze<\/a> any leftovers.
