However, it is recommended that you keep them under consideration.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><u>At home<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>From an early age, young people could be exposed to:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Violent behavior between parents <\/li>\n<li>Severe punishments <\/li>\n<li>Parents who are frequently absent or don&#8217;t pay attention to their children <\/li>\n<li>Rejection or emotional distance from parents <\/li>\n<li>A broken home <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><u>At school<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Youths may exhibit behavioral problems such as:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Teasing or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stopbullying.gov\/what-is-bullying\/definition\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">bullying<\/a> other students <\/li>\n<li>Skipping class <\/li>\n<li>Exhibiting either aggressive or introverted behavior <\/li>\n<li>Difficulty concentrating or exhibiting hyperactive behavior <\/li>\n<li>Developing learning issues or failing classes <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><u>In society<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Young people could be considered violent if they:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Harass or provoke kids that are their same age or younger <\/li>\n<li>Have been arrested before age 14 for committing a crime <\/li>\n<li>Belong to a gang or other violent group <\/li>\n<li>Take <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/ency\/article\/001975.htm\" target=\"_blank\">drugs or drink alcohol<\/a> <\/li>\n<li>Have been treated for psychological or emotional issues <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Tips to prevent youth violence<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You can help prevent violent behavior in your child by following these recommendations:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Spend more time with your child and include everyone in family activities. <\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t argue with your spouse in front of your child. <\/li>\n<li>Form a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childwelfare.gov\/pubs\/usermanuals\/fatherhood\/chaptertwo.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">bond with your son or daughter<\/a>.
