This past <span class=\"xn-chron\">May 18<\/span>, a small community of farmers in the in the municipality of Salgar, in the southeastern region of the Department of Antioquia in <span class=\"xn-location\">Colombia<\/span>, fell victim to the devastating force of nature. A rainstorm that began in the early hours of the morning ended in a landslide in the\u00a0<i>La Margarita<\/i>\u00a0village, where <i>La\u00a0Liboriana\u00a0<\/i>creek overflowed<i>,<\/i>\u00a0causing landslides.\u00a0 The disaster left more than 100 dead, dozens injured and missing, and hundreds homeless. <\/p>\n<p>DESCA&#8217;s CEO, <span class=\"xn-person\">Osmundo Luquez<\/span> together with Patricia G\u00f3mez, Founder and Executive Director of\u00a0<i>Wake up &amp; Arise<\/i>, based in <span class=\"xn-location\">South Florida<\/span>, have joined efforts with Former President and current Senator of <span class=\"xn-location\">Colombia<\/span>, \u00c1lvaro Uribe V\u00e9lez, who grew up in this region, to bring awareness to this cause. The monies raise from this tournament will build 30 houses in the village of\u00a0<i>La Margarita<\/i>. These houses, in addition to providing shelter, will be built to rural specifications, offering economic sustainability to these families who have lost everything.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The tournament, which will be hosted by former president, \u00c1lvaro Uribe V\u00e9lez, will take place on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Saturday, November 7<\/span> at the Miami International Links Melreese Country Club, 1802 NW 37th Ave, <span class=\"xn-location\">Miami, FL<\/span> 33125, beginning at <span class=\"xn-chron\">9:15 a.m.<\/span> The players will have a full day of fun activities, including a Putting and Driving range ability competition for a chance to win a new car sponsored by Luxuria Motor Club.
