Corporation of the Year <\/i><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"xn-location\">LOS ANGELES<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-chron\">Nov. 3, 2015<\/span> \/PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE\/ &#8212; The Hispanic Public Relations Association, Los Angeles Chapter (HPRA-LA) held its Annual PRemio Awards &amp; Scholarship Gala in Downtown L.A. on <span class=\"xn-chron\">Oct. 29<\/span> and awarded five deserving <span class=\"xn-location\">California<\/span> college students in the fields of PR\/Journalism with scholarships as well as recognized individuals and corporations for their excellence and commitment to the Latino community.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s scholarship winners included:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Dru Anthony Chavez<\/span><\/b>, junior at <span class=\"xn-org\">USC<\/span> pursuing a degree in Public Relations; <\/li>\n<li><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Beatriz Martinez<\/span><\/b>, senior at <span class=\"xn-org\">Cal State University, Fullerton<\/span> pursuing a degree in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations; <\/li>\n<li><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Naomi Ogaldez<\/span><\/b>, recent graduate of <span class=\"xn-org\">Cal State University, Northridge<\/span> with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Spanish-language Journalism; <\/li>\n<li><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Marissa Plascencia<\/span><\/b>, a senior at <span class=\"xn-org\">Cal State University, Fullerton<\/span> pursuing a degree in Public Relations; <\/li>\n<li><b>Yareiry Giselle Pineda<\/b>, a senior at the <span class=\"xn-org\">University of La Verne<\/span> pursuing a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, <b><span class=\"xn-person\">Naomi Ogaldez<\/span><\/b> received the 2015 Esther Renteria Community Service Award and Scholarship that honor <span class=\"xn-person\">Esther Renteria&#8217;s<\/span> advocacy work and contributions to the field of communications.<\/p>\n<p>Co-hosted by <span class=\"xn-person\">Sid Garcia<\/span>, from ABC7 Eyewitness News and <span class=\"xn-person\">Claudia Botero<\/span>, reporter for Univision KMEX 34, more than 150 top executives from the communications and marketing industry attended the Masquerade Soiree. <\/p>\n<p>HPRA-LA recognized outstanding Latino communicators in journalism, public relations, social media, and corporate leadership contribute to the betterment of the Latino community and its positive portrayal in the media. <\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s PRemio Award winners included:<\/p>\n<p><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Dennis Romero<\/span><\/b>, LA Weekly, Journalism Award <br \/><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Inez Gonzalez<\/span><\/b>, Latino Communications Initiative at <span class=\"xn-org\">Cal State University, Fullerton<\/span>, PR Achievement Award <br \/><b><span class=\"xn-person\">Ana Flores<\/span><\/b>, Latina Bloggers Connect, Social Media Influence Award <br \/><b>Toyota<\/b>, Corporation of the Year <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;First, congratulations to all the students and PRemio awardees for their continued dedication to the field of Hispanic public relations and to the community,&#8221;
