Those earning minimum wage will now have a bit more to take home every paycheck,&#8221; said Labor Commissioner <span class=\"xn-person\">Julie Su<\/span>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/DLSE\/dlse.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Labor Commissioner&#8217;s Office<\/a> is a division of DIR.<\/p>\n<p>Governor <span class=\"xn-person\">Jerry Brown<\/span> signed legislation on <span class=\"xn-chron\">September 25, 2013<\/span>, raising <span class=\"xn-location\">California&#8217;s<\/span> minimum wage to <span class=\"xn-money\">$9<\/span> per hour on <span class=\"xn-chron\">July 1, 2014<\/span>, with a final adjustment to <span class=\"xn-money\">$10<\/span> per hour on <span class=\"xn-chron\">January 1, 2016<\/span>. It marked the first increase in <span class=\"xn-location\">California&#8217;s<\/span> hourly minimum since 2008, when the minimum wage was raised <span class=\"xn-money\">50 cents<\/span> to <span class=\"xn-money\">$8<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>State law requires employers to post information on wages, hours and working conditions at a worksite area accessible to employees. Notices for the wage orders in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/IWC\/MW-2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/IWC\/MW-2014-Spanish.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Spanish<\/a> can be downloaded and printed from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/wpnodb.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Workplace postings<\/a> page on the DIR website.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Almost all employees in <span class=\"xn-location\">California<\/span> must be paid the minimum wage as required by state law.
